Microdosing is the practice of ingesting small amounts of a psychoactive compound. Unlike the experiences associated with a psychedelic experience, this small amount does not produce noticeable changes in perception or brain function.
Start Low and Go Slow, Be in a Safe Setting, Set an Intention, Journal, Integration
Everyone has a different body compostion. Some have a gene where psychedelics have no effect while others very sensitive. Microdosing should be "sub" perceptual and it is highly recommended that everyone sets an intention and are in a safe, relaxed setting - possilbly at home listening to soft music or on a gentle hike in nature. Be sure you educate yourself.
When it comes to optimal microdosing methods, each person is unique. Individual metabolism, lifestyle, and sensitivity can influence the results you observe from microdosing. Your expectations may affect how much you benefit from various methods. Several popular protocols are listed in the next session. Experiment with different doses and schedules to find out which is right for you.
As you explore, keep the following in mind:
*The body builds up a tolerance to the psilocybin molecule, so it is highly receommended taking days off between doses.
*It is best to dose in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before eating, for best absorption.
*The practice of microdosing is a proactive way to alter your levels of well-being, and the effects can be subtle. By checking in with your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, you will be more aware of the positive benefits of your practice.
